Air Conditioning Maintenance Near Me in Old Lyme, CT

Annual AC maintenance in Old Lyme, CT keeps cooling costs down, extends equipment life, and prevents the kind of mid-summer breakdowns that happen exactly when no one wants to wait for a repair.

A proper AC maintenance visit covers cleaning the outdoor condenser coil (which loses 20%+ of its efficiency when dirty), checking refrigerant charge against the unit's spec, testing the capacitor and contactor for wear, inspecting electrical connections, clearing the condensate drain, replacing the air filter, and verifying thermostat operation. The visit runs about 45-60 minutes for a standard split system.

Skipping AC maintenance is expensive. A dirty condenser coil forces the compressor to work harder, raising electric bills and shortening compressor life. A weak capacitor that could have been replaced for a small charge during maintenance can fail during a heat wave, leaving you waiting for emergency service and paying premium pricing. A clogged condensate line can leak water into your ceiling or trip a safety switch and shut down the system entirely.

Schedule AC maintenance in Old Lyme, CT in early spring, ideally between March and May. Catching dirt buildup, low refrigerant, or worn components in May means the system runs through July and August without trouble.

For homes in Old Lyme, CT with year-round cooling demand, twice-yearly maintenance (paired with a fall heating visit) keeps everything tuned up before each demanding season. Maintenance plans bundle both visits at a discount and usually include priority scheduling during peak season.
